What Are Cryo Hops®?
Derived from the Greek word kryos, meaning “frost,” Cryo Hops® represent an advanced hop-processing innovation that separates whole hop cones into their key components: concentrated lupulin and hop bract. Using a cryogenic process in a temperature-controlled, nitrogen-rich environment, the valuable resins and aromatic oils are preserved from harvest through to pellet production.
Cryo Hops® pellets are made from highly concentrated lupulin, the portion of the hop responsible for delivering bitterness, flavour, and aroma. By concentrating these desirable compounds, brewers can achieve intense hop expression while using less vegetative material, helping to reduce unwanted grassy or astringent characteristics in the finished beer.
Suitable for use anywhere traditional hop pellets or whole-cone hops are employed, Cryo Hops® offer brewers greater efficiency and flexibility across all stages of the brewing process, from bittering additions through to whirlpool and dry-hopping applications.
