Black Rock Classic Pilsner Beer Kit

Black Rock Classic Pilsner is a premium New World-style lager that delivers crisp refreshment and effortless drinkability. Brew it with 1kg of dextrose or Black Rock Liquid Brewing Sugar for a classic clean, dry finish, or use 1.7kg of Black Rock Ultralight Malt Extract to enhance body, colour, and malt character.

Pouring a bright pale gold, this easy-drinking pilsner features a clean malt profile with subtle sweetness and a light, refreshing body. Crafted with premium pilsner malt and balanced with NZ Green Bullet™ hops, it offers a gentle bitterness that leads to a crisp, satisfying finish.

At 4.5% ABV and 16 IBU, this highly sessionable pilsner is the perfect thirst-quencher for any occasion, combining refreshing drinkability with classic lager character.

Typical specs when brewed as per instructions:
IBU: 16, SRM: 3
Malt: 100% Pilsner malt.
Hops, (bittering): NZ Hops Green Bullet™
ABV: 4.5% (approx. using 1kg Black Rock Liquid Brewing Sugar)

For best results, brew Black Rock Classic Pilsner with Black Rock Unhopped Ultralight (or a second can of Black Rock Classic Pilsner to boost bitterness) & an 11.5g sachet of Fermentis Yeast: SafLager™ W-34/70.

For a craftier option, try 50-200g of dry hop at day 6 of fermentation.
Suggested hop additions:
Classic Noble Pilsner try one or a combination of Saaz, Tettnanger, or Hallertauer Mittelfrüh.
New Zealand Pilsner (NZP) use NZ Hops Riwaka™
German Pilsner: use Hallertau Mittelfrüh and/or Tettnang for a classic, crisp bitterness with floral and herbal notes.
American Pilsner: use Cluster and/or Liberty for a clean, mild bitterness with subtle floral and citrus notes.

Ingredients: Malted barley, water, hops, hop extract and yeast (under the lid).
