This fitting is typically used when you don't want back flow of beer into gas lines or regulators. WilliamsWarn latest regulators come with a duckbill (check valve) inserted into the push fit fitting on the regulator so doesn't require it but their older regulators don't have one.
As used by Williamswarn before they changed to the cheaper Korean made one..
